Pictures

If you want to include pictures in your blog entries — and I strongly recommend this whenever possible! — you can use the following free online picture services:

  • Flickr
One of the most popular services — and quite likely the most stylish one — is Flickr. You should definitely have a look into this one! However, beware of the limitation: With the free version you can only upload 20 megabytes per month.
  • Zooomr
Very similar to Flickr is Zooomr — with one major difference: You can upload 100 megabytes per month for free which is five times what Flickr offers at the moment.
  • PhotoBucket
With PhotoBucket you get 1000 megabytes of space to save your pictures and videos online. You can arrange them in albums and directly link to them from all over the web.
  • AllYouCanUpload
As the name implies, there is no limit to the pictures you can save on AllYouCanUpload. Only drawback: You can’t create albums to arrange your pictures. However, that’s no problem if you just have a few pictures you want to include in your blog.

Whatever service you use to publish your pictures, when you include them in the Spring Vibrations blog, they should not be larger than 450 pixels in width, otherwise they get resized automatically and don’t look too nice anymore. If you need to make your pictures smaller, the best thing is probably to take care of it with a graphics application before uploading them. However, you can also resize them online, either right within the picture service of your choice (Flickr, PhotoBucket, …) or on this nice little website.

As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
